- Abstract
The year of 2020 is already tagged by crisis of all dimensions, whether humanitarian, democrátic, public health or economic. The global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 already is the largest witnessed in generations and, no different than the others, has caused consequences in several social spectrums. Therefore, the present article shall dedicate to verify the economic effects caused by the containment measures of the virus. In face the fear of contagion and the orientations given by the WHO, a drastic alteration of social culture is already noted in all big centers around the globe, measures as physical isolation culminated in an abrupt decrease of commercial activity, that triggered an inevitable econômic crisis, once the jobs were extincts, lots of companies closed their doors, other decreased their number of employees to keep acting, commercial relations was undone, etc. In this contexto, the present study intends to demonstrate that the contracts ocupate a prominent position in business activities and it is through this document that the wealth circulates. Therefore, it is prudent to cherish their maintenance, even in times of crisis, once that promotes legal certainty the contract is an important tool to combat the harmful effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in economics. That said, the specific objective of this article is to analises the economics and legal effects caused by COVID-19 pandemic in contractual relations and understand how the maintenance of this relations, by the application of the clause rebus sic stantibus, it is important for the wealth circulation, values, products and services, so that indispensable to combat the harmful effects to the economics, once that cares about the maintenance of contractual relations with the reestablishment of the economic-financial stability between the terms previously agreed. To the development of this article it shall use a deductive methodology that uses bibliography studies.
