- Abstract
Up to the present, the phenomenon of video games is associated with unproductive entertainment. However, it exceeds its ludic functions. New media are being used in medicine, journalism as well as in education. The aim of this paper is to present the video games phenomenon in the context of omnipresent technologizing and a wide spectrum of economic and social problems associated with it. What are the chances and risks resulting from using games in education? Can the Player better understand the surrounding world through experiencing various simulations? I would like to answer these and many other questions during the lecture.
