- Title
RISK EQUITY: A NEW PROPOSAL.
- Authors
Adler, Matthew D.
- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of U.S. risk regulation policies on equity. It proposes the Probabilistic Population Profile Analysis (PPPA), a novel approach which determines how equity bears on the regulation of health and safety risks. In addition, it identifies the analytical tools that risk regulators should use to incorporate equity concerns into their decision-making. According to the author, the PPPA is a large improvement on existing approaches to risk equity, and it adopts a population-wide approach to equity that attends to the impact of both income and health/longevity on individuals' well-being.
