- Abstract
The author talks about his decision to write a criminal law casebook for use in teaching his own criminal law class. He states that his casebook includes questions aimed at encouraging students to think. He cites that he prefers using cases that highlight a grievous tactical error by either the prosecutor or the defense counsel. He adds that he uses the Iowa case State versus McFadden to highlight bad defense lawyering. He mentions the differences between his book and other casebooks.
