- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of personal factors in academic achievements in a virtual high school. Speaking, math, IT skills, motivation, and academic self-concept were considered. As a result, the only factor that did not show influence in the academic performance was the IT skills, as a consequence of its synergy with other analyzed factors. Furthermore, regarding higher technological growth, it is crucial to work on the development of speaking and math skills. As Fernández (2011) and Botello y López (2014) mention these skills promote the development of logical thinking resulting essentially in the achievement of technological competencies in the XXI century.
