- Abstract
The article presents the case of a 63-year-old woman with a 16-year history of hypertrophic lesions of lichen planus, along with squamous cell carcinoma, which was treated with hyperthermia. Medical examination showed that the patient had multiple pink to violaceous papules and plaques over the arms, shoulders, and legs. Multiple skin biopsies of the lesions showed typical lichen planus and areas of dysplastic cells of invasive squamous cell carcinoma with desmoplastic stroma. Malignant degeneration to squamous cell carcinoma has been seen in the chronic plaques of hypertrophic and oral lichen planus.
