- Abstract
The purpose of this document is to reflect on the importance of carrying out extension activities at the University of Zulia from a public ethics perspective. The methodology was documentary, and several authors, such as Arland (2002), Cortina (1998), Tesoro (2000), Kliksberg (1997) and Petrella (1997) were consulted. Conclusions were that universities practice public ethics by constructing projects for public life that respond to needs of the community in which they are inserted; the university extension brings the university closer to its milieu and allows it to accomplish its social commitment; by building public ethics, the university favors achievement of the common weal through the practice of social management based on the value of solidarity.
