- Abstract
The article focuses on the advantages and problems of computerized literature searching, using Cataloging and Indexing (CAIN) on-line system as a model. The National Agricultural Library of the U.S. employed the CAIN system in the academic year 1974-1975, aiming to help the faculty and researchers working on agriculture and biology. It informs that CAIN system is a computer-based bibliographical retrieval system, which includes bibliography of works related to agriculture. It mentions the advantages of CAIN, which includes success in finding exact terminology, large number of foreign citations and quick access to citations. It states that complete reliance on computer and frequent need of updations, are the weaknesses of the system
