Carbon Dioxide Exchange of a Tropical Rain Forest. Part I.
- Authors
Stephens, G. R.; Waggoner, P. E.
- Abstract
The article presents a research which determines the carbon dioxide (CO2) exchange of tropical rain forest in Bosque de Florencia in Turrialba, Costa Rica. The materials and methods in this study involve the measurement of the leaf beneath the Goethalsia meiantha. Photosynthesis and respiration have been observed in excised leaves. Net assimilation was likewise carefully examined in two Cordia alliodora leaves. It is revealed that respiration of the leaves during photosynthesis can be noted much as it does in other forests and crops.
