- Abstract
The article provides some guidelines for companies to consider before entering into a technology transfer agreement. It points out that open innovation technology transfer can be mutually beneficial for both companies developing the technology and the one acquiring the technology but can be technically and financially devastating if done incorrectly. Some of the guidelines given include identifying the needs, goals and objectives of both companies, having a Nondisclosure Agreement and seeking appropriate advice from experienced professionals.
