- Title
TRAME HISTORIQUE DU TEXTILE À COATICOOK (1871 À NOS JOURS).
- Authors
Toé, François Thierry
- Abstract
From the second half of the 19th century, Coaticook has known an important activity both artisanal and industrial. Among all sectors, textile followed a singular path. This article is a contribution to the reconstruction of this history. One thing is clear: industry, crafts and retail experienced difficulties after flourishing periods. However, the survival of these lines of business has been provided by companies and individuals who had the ability to overcome the obstacles or were able to adapt to different circumstances. The privileged witness of this whole story is none other than the Beaulne Museum, and it will continue to fulfil this role.
