- Authors
Finnie, Scott
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the dynamics of five specific in-class research projects and identifies their relative outcomes at the Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. It notes that research projects include research that addresses race and the role of perspective, common assumptions and presumptions regarding black leaders and a simplistic conclusions regarding race-sensitive issues. It was concluded that liable topics in the arena of race and racism can tend to cause students to close off and hide behind reinforced and entrenched concepts and conclusions. It also notes that most evident outcomes are enhanced communication and problem solving abilities together with students' commitment to overcome native egocentrism and sociocentrism.
