Feely, Abigail
- Abstract
In this article, the author explains how she utilizes the children's book "The Paper Bag Princess," by Robert Munsch, in her college history class on the history of feminism and social change. She connects the popularity of the book to the academic study of gender role acceptance in children's books. Focus is given to the way in which the book can be used to teach students about the historical development of girls' reading and second-wave feminism.
