A case study is presented that examines the establishment of a preparedness group known as the Victory Corps at Austin High School (AHS) in Austin, Texas, during World War II, particularly concerning changes in Austin Independent School District (AISD) policies regarding race, class equity, and gender. It discusses the democratization of school-supported groups and resistance to social change.
