The article reports on the admiralty and maritime law at the national-level developments and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. It mentions the completion of United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) concerning its work with the General Assembly's Sixth Committee. It also mentions the decision of the Eleventh Circuit, upholding the right of seaman to seek punitive damages from an employer who ignores the obligation to provide maintenance and cure.
