- Title
"Round Up the Usual Suspects": A Comment on Nonexistent Plant G Protein-Coupled Receptors.
- Authors
Urano, Daisuke; Jones, Alan M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the role of the receptor guanine triphosphatase (GTPase)-accelerating protein (GAP) in regulating the active state of heterotrimeric G proteins in plants in the absence of G protein-coupled receptors (GPRC). Previous studies on Arabidopsis thaliana, plant and animal cells failed to identify GPRC as the main key ingredient in G protein. Gene homologous to Gα, GΒ and Gγ and plant GPCR candidates are identified from Arabidopsis.
