- Abstract
This article investigates sequence type 398 meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection and colonisation in dogs in view of a respiratory disease outbreak in a litter of American boxer dogs at a breeding kennel in Ontario. Nasal and rectal samples were collected from 28 originally tested dogs and one new dog. Results showed that overall, MRSA was isolated from 52% of the animals. The author speculates that the owner who worked on the pig farm was the source of the MRSA.
