- Abstract
Globalization has accelerated the exchange of labor and capital and gave the hope of social progress and economic prosperity to nations. It has also led to rapid cultural exchange as well as the need for effective cross-cultural communication. It seems that economic exchange, transmission and absorption of skills, competencies, new economic thinking and practice did not cause major difficulties, but transmission and absorption of the cultural grounds (enculturation), that ensure full communication and cooperation, are going much more difficult. It turns out that not all values can be adequately transferred or easily adopted. Instead, the culture is an object of interdisciplinary study. Existing various methodological approaches to culture, on the one hand, help to better understand this phenomenon, on the other hand, to clarify the possibilities of enculturation's expression. This article discusses the concept of culture, a variety of interpretations, explores the process of culture interception and absorption, and the role of cultural determinants in the process of intercultural communication.
