- Abstract
The author discusses the skills required for an ideal surgical clerkship for medical students and faculty members. He analyzes the importance of surgery for medical students and found that strong correlations between the attitude of the surgeon and the environment being an adequate place for learning. He suggests that the students should adapt learning skills through mentorship, observation and hands-on practice through direct involvement in the treatment of patients in operating room (OR).
