- Abstract
The article presents a reprint of the article "Evaluation of the effectiveness of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty," which appeared in the January 1985 issue of the journal "The Laryngoscope." It presents a study that analyzed the effectiveness of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. It revealed improvement in excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and reduced hypoxia during sleep following the removal of redundant tissue in the oropharynx (UPPP).
