- Abstract
The article suggests that the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA) adversely affects the economic stability of African-Americans and Latinos in the U.S. The author proposes bankruptcy reform that would increase economic stability for minorities and the middle class. Specific topics covered include a history of U.S. bankruptcy law, how BAPCPA came to be supported by Democrats, and effects of the subprime mortgage crisis within specific minority communities.
