The article focuses on study according to which minority teachers have positive impact on the ‘social emotional development' of American minority kindergarten children and mentions effects on interpersonal skills, externalizing behaviors and self-control. Topics include increase in the school-age population of minority children, how the intercultural communication and exchange breaks down and how academic journals are gatekeeping institutions.
