- Abstract
The article discusses the four hour target for emergency departments (EDs) in Great Britain. A brief overview of the problems in Great Britain's National Health Service (NHS) and three major reforms enacted by the New Labour Party led by former prime minister Tony Blair, including the publication of several documents outlining an ED time-based target, is presented.
