This study explores the concept of parental support as it relates to the psychosocial adjustment of school-aged children and their parents. An original instrument with parallel parent and child forms designed to measure quality of parental support of school-aged children will be introduced. Implications for future studies on the relationship between parental support and the psychosocial adjustment of both parents and children will be offered.
