- Abstract
The article reports on the surgical margins in breast-conserving surgery. It states the surgical margins are an important predictor of local recurrence (LR) rates. It reports on the single institution studies suggests wider margins can be proposed for greater protection against LR especially ductal carcinoma, unlike the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) trials, which require that requires that tumor cells do not touch ink.
