- Abstract
The article provides strategies for U.S. middle school science teachers that can be used to develop engineering activities, and provides the example of building a greenhouse. Topics discussed include the central components of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-integrated engineering units, the importance of providing a real-life context for the lesson, and the introduction of engineering design to students.
