- Abstract
The article provides information on different kinds of assessment tools that can be utilized to efficiently examine the students' understanding of science ideas. Diagnostic assessment identifies what the students already know about the concepts to be covered in the unit. Formative assessment, on the other hand, monitors daily student progress. Summative assessment checks the concepts learned by the students. Confirmatory assessment tests knowledge retention of the students. Teachers can use this cycle of assessment to monitor student discernment throughout the learning process so they can use the information to customize instruction and speed to match with the needs of the students.
