- Title
Promotion of University Geography.
- Abstract
The article discusses problems and initiatives in recruitment in geography at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney in 2001. It claims that one problem for recruitment is that geography in high schools is often placed in social science departments. Another problem is that geography can only be studied as a major if it is part of a double major. The author notes that geography at UNSW assumes a strong role at careers advising days. The author adds that the school has been undertaking direct marketing and newspaper advertisement.
