- Title
Guilford Mills Sales Down.
- Abstract
The article reports on the significant decline on the sales of Guilford Mills Inc. The firm's sales decreased by 25.3 percent, from $211,678,000 in the third quarter of 2000 to only 158,098,000 in the same period in 2001. Guilford Mills' net loss also increased from $2,597,000 in the fourth quarter of 2000 to $20,353,000 in the same quarter of 2001. The company's president John Emrich said that the economic downturn caused the company to reduce apparel fabric manufacturing in the U.S. Because of these negative developments, the company plans to downsize its facility in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, but intends to continue their operation in their facility in Altamira, Mexico.
