- Title
Recurrent early pregnancy loss: Is miscarriage evaluation the missing link?
- Authors
Stephenson, Mary D.
- Abstract
The article assesses the use of early pregnancy testing in order to avoid recurrent miscarriages among female patients. Based on ultrasound findings, the risk of pre-clinical miscarriage in women depends on both gestational and maternal ages, as well as chromosomal abnormalities. Couples who want to evaluate the risk of another miscarriage can send the first miscarriage for cytogenic analysis. The diagnostic criteria for antiphospholipid syndrome are described.
