An essay is presented on the involuntary hunger of poor families in the Philippines who collect leftovers thrown in dumpsites for food which they call pagpag. It explores the suffering of the scavengers in the dumpsite in Payatas, Quezon City in Metro Manila. It reflects on how the Church Magisterium envisions the Eucharist in modern times.
