- Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine measures to prevent heat stroke during endurance running in the new physical fitness test. We examined the relationship between the degree of feeling sick immediately after endurance running and environmental factors, students' physical characteristics, physical ability, and lifestyle habits. The results showed that a significantly lower percentage of students in Group 2 (G2), who answered that they felt "sick" or "very sick" on the post-endurance run questionnaire, belonged to an athletic club on or off campus than those in Group 1 (G1), who answered "normal" or "somewhat sick" (p=0.014). G2 also showed significantly lower values than G1 for high-intensity physical activity (p=0.004) and total physical activity (p=0.003), and significantly higher values for resting heart rate and endurance running time (p=0.002 and p=0.001, respectively).
