- Abstract
The article informs that in 2018, African American persons accounted for nearly one half of all new diagnoses of HIV infection in the U.S. The annual diagnosis rate among African American persons was four times the rate among all other racial or ethnic groups combined. It is noted that intensified prevention efforts are needed to reduce HIV transmission among African American persons in communities with the highest social vulnerability.
