- Abstract
In northern Mexico, between the states of Coahuila and Durango, is located the region called Comarca Lagunera, where Gómez Palacio belongs, a city with a long industrial tradition relevant to the region's development. That brought countless companies interested in establishing their factories; many of these were of global importance, so the vestiges of these facilities are a cause of importance in the Gómez Palacio's identity. However, as time passed, this heritage was ignored, leaving it abandoned or destroyed. This paper aims to present an initial diagnosis of the current conditions of the Industrial Heritage, generated during the founding of Gómez Palacio. Therefore, the methodology was applied from the descriptive and hermeneutical approaches, later an exploratory approach was used to particularize the study of two cases, the old factories: "La Amistad" and "La Esperanza", to contrast what previously analysed with the current conditions of this heritage. As a result, it was found that in both cases, space has been intervened in various ways, the most recent being those that show a sensitivity to the value of these properties, which is why it was concluded that, although efforts have been made to preserve the Industrial Heritage in Gómez Palacio, these are insufficient since the dissemination and awareness of heritage are not contemplated in the intervention plans.
