- Abstract
The history of entrepreneurship, dating back to pre-capitalist processes, has been a crucial subject regarding economics. The concept is among the most important factors in economic development, innovation, creativity, and social progress in today's globalizing world. Therefore, the change and evolution of economic doctrines are also essential, and theories that have been studied to make a sound assessment of the subject gained importance. Due to such features, entrepreneurship is based on economic theory and society. The study aims to explicate the entire theories pertaining entrepreneurship, which includes an abundant source of thought for future, while entrepreneurship is evaluated with a theoretical and descriptive methodology employed within the historical process, taking into account the overall view of the studies conducted in the related field regarding schools of economic thought and their representatives. Consequently, there has been a series of variations in the history of economic thought in terms of ages, and those variations caused the entrepreneurship concept in intellectual and academic fields to be approached from different economic theories and phenomena at a comparative perspective by different economics schools, whereas research studies concentrating on the relationship between economics and entrepreneurship are observed to be shifting toward interdisciplinary studies day by day.
