- Abstract
The article presents information on a study conducted to determine whether changes in physical activity and diet during a type 2 diabetes (T2D) prevention program were associated with changes in estimated risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and mortality. In the study, individuals were offered lifestyle counseling under the Finnish diabetes prevention program, and their ten-year risk for estimated CVD events and mortality were calculated. Lifestyle counseling reduced the risk for CVD.
