- Abstract
This article discusses the adoption and application of law in Spain during the 16th and 17th centuries. The author comments on the administration of justice in the country at the time and describe the role of jurists and lawyers in its application. He also considers the concepts of righteous law, legal theory, and judicial discretion. The development and evolution of the Spanish judicial process over this period, including the interpretation of law, is also explored. The abundance of laws and their sometimes conflicting interpretations is also examined.
