The article presents a study on the rotation stability of the planet Mercury. Accordingly, Mercury runs a resonance motion, creating three rotations about its center of mass in absolute space throughout two orbital periods. Moreover, a nonlinear stability problem in Lyapunov's term has been cleared out for the planar periodic motions of a solid body.
