More than ninety percent of businesses in Mexico are family-owned; to subsist they face several conditions produced by their culture which do complex their existence. Internally, the culture of these family businesses is attached to customs and traditions, which is reflected in the way they work; as for the external culture, the organizations are affected by changes in their environment. This argument arises from a research realized with cider businesses located in Zacatlan de las Manzanas, Puebla, which present the dilemma of keeping the actual situation or changing it altogether, it cuts off the development of these companies. Therefore, there is a proposal set in place for these businesses to develop capabilities and change with the complex adaptive systems approach, through the stages of detection-election-action.
