- Abstract
The article "International Economic Law and the Hidden Abode of Social Reproduction" examines how International Economic Law (IEL) contributes to global inequalities and injustices. It argues that IEL reinforces the divide between production and social reproduction, devaluing certain types of labor. The article also discusses how social hierarchies and labor exploitation play a role in these dynamics. The author suggests exploring alternative arrangements to challenge current value-making processes and promote coexistence. The text emphasizes the impact of IEL on power dynamics and resource distribution, advocating for the recognition and fair compensation of different forms of labor and environmental resources. It also highlights the importance of transnational connections and solidarity in addressing these issues.
