- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of the plague of darkness in the Bible wherein purpose of the plague was to render the Egyptian population incapacitated to be unable to see in the darkness. This plague of darkness was described by Jewish historian Josephus as a thick darkness without the least light spread itself over the Egyptians whereby their sight being obstructed. Further, the said plague as described in the book of Exodus is ultimately a collective hysterical blindness.
