Since the second half of the 18th century, in New Spain the cult of the sacred hearts proliferated, resulting in the production of multiple pictorial and literary references. Starting from the analysis of a work by the painter Miguel Cabrera and its closeness with a series of books of his belonging, in this article the correlations between a set of cardiac allegories are evidenced and his imagodevotional universe in common.
