The article discusses the concept of diagnostic error in an educational environment and in a clinical setting. Topics discussed include dependence of therapy and prognosis on a correct diagnosis in clinical settings, over- and underdiagnosis as diagnostic errors from an educator's perspective, and susceptibility of labelling errors to educational interventions that result from process errors.
