- Abstract
The article discusses child protection defined in Great Britain as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of children's health and ensuring children grow up in circumstances consistent with safe and effective care. Topics discussed include the need for awareness of the risks of neglect and maltreatment in inter-agency communication and training of professionals to report children and the environmental, social and contextual factors that may increase risk of maltreatment.
