- Abstract
The article presents historical views across the Pacific on the Manila galleon trade during the 17th- and 18th-ceturies and its traces in Oregon. Topics discussed are events that allowed the Spanish empire to develop an international trade network, oral traditions of the Nehalem-Tillamook and Clatsop peoples who witness the galleon wreck, and the use of trade and sale of the galleon cargo particularly the beeswax by the Native peoples and Euro-American settlers.
