- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 13-year-old girl who was transferred to a pediatric emergency department with altered mental status after a day at amusement park. Topics discussed include the girl noted to be confused and disoriented after a spinning roller coaster ride; magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showing diminished flow in the left internal carotid artery from the origin to bifurcation; and the final diagnosis, that dissection of the left internal carotid artery caused the stroke.
