- Title
In Defense of Methodological Pluralism: Theology, Apologetics, and the Critical Study of Mormonism.
- Authors
Birch, Brian D.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the development of Mormon studies. It argues that cultural studies should not be the primary methodology around which other educational values revolved. It uses the arguments of Robert Neville, dean of the School of Theology at Boston University, in his 1992 presidential address to the American Academy of Religion regarding his concern about the legitimacy of theology in the academic study of religion.
