- Abstract
An essay on the ideological struggle of character and narrator Jack Burden in Robert Penn Warren's novel "All the King's Men." The author provides an overview of some of the Christian themes, images, and categories recurred by Warren in the novel. He also looks into the effort of Jack to embrace mechanistic determinism and explores how his openness to the traditional Christian position has overcome his inversions.
