- Abstract
In this paper, the objective was to understand the process of coping in staff who lived in the year 2000, the acquisition of a public institution where they worked for a private institution, so that, managed to stay working in the acquiring institution. The research is qualitative, descriptive, temporal cut sectional with a longitudinal perspective. Data were collected through interviews, and interpreted in the light of the technique of content analysis. It was concluded that the employees have made use of internal protection factors (coping) to deal with the impacts in the workplace. This process was carried out in the face of reinterpretation by employees as to the adverse circumstances experienced, so they came away with their behavior and actions flexibility to deal with the risk factors that led to the condition of their vulnerability to risk. It was concluded that there was evidence of the process of coping in staff who have experienced the acquisition and then they overcame the hardships of getting new work environment to develop their activities remain on the job buyer. Thus, it was realized through research that the concept of psychological coping on way contributes to the understanding of human behavior in organizations.
