- Abstract
The article discusses the author's views about medical care for prisoners and inmates of institutions, America's correctional and criminal justice systems, and the ability of U.S. medical schools and residency programs to provide students and trainees with correctional medicine-related opportunities. The author's personal experiences with prisoner-related medical care in places such as Colorado are examined, along with a call to include criminal justice in the medical school curriculum.
